A Chinese Delegation led by AABI Secretariat visited Thailand in January, 2020
From January 6th to 10th, 2020, AABI Secretariat led a Chinese delegation of seven people to visit local stakeholders on innovation and entrepreneurship in Thailand. Apart from the Secretariat staff, the delegates also included incubator managers from Haikou National Hi-tech Incubator Operation Company and invited experts on bio-medical industry from Shanghai. This visiting program is collaboratively supported by Asian Association of Business Incubation (AABI) and Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association (Thai-BISPA), the AABI Association Member in Thailand.
During the visit, the delegation fully explored the Thai innovation ecosystem in bio-medical industry by meeting with supervising governmental agencies, local innovation communities and entrepreneurs, learning local innovation-related knowledge from sharing workshops as well as participating in on-site visits.
Dr. ZHANG, the invited expert of this visit, who is also the expert reviewer for Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and the national Torch Center (the Science and Technology Ministry of China) approved of the program outcome and said that, “This visit is a fruitful practice to further advance the cooperation between China and Thailand in terms of both Government-to-Government collaboration and B2B one”. Besides, this program also paved the way to a deepening of interactions between AABI members and showcased the great potential of resources exchange among AABI community.
During the four-day program, the delegates paid visit to over 10 institutions in two major cities of Thailand, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, ranging from Science Park, incubator to innovative entrepreneurs. Here are some highlights.
